Miriam Goi is an artist based between Italy and Canada, whose work encompasses photography, screenwriting, analog filmmaking, and poetry. Much of her work deals with the space between "opposites": overstimulation and fatigue, hyper-connectedness and connection, urban and natural.
The focus of her research is the cultivation of slowness as a ritual and a choice, that is neither inherent or spontaneous, but rather a conscious effort to establish a grounding practice through art, human connection, and movement. She's interested in how a landscape and geography can affect relationships and emotions in more ways than we would like to admit.
Another focus of her work is the intersection of wilderness and urban spaces, and what ecology can teach us in terms of perception, interconnectedness, and interdependency.
